The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Cedar Rapids, IA, is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of advocates for a just and sustainable food system. We sponsor and train individuals to be educators and leaders who champion social, environmental, and economic equity in food production and distribution. Our unique program offers invaluable organic food system education, empowering Fellows to grow and distribute a variety of crops and engage in community gardening initiatives. By integrating food and ecological literacy into school programs and supporting local farmers markets, our Fellows enhance access to healthy food for all. The Fellowship spans six months of immersive learning at the Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year where participants apply their skills in collaboration with local non-profits. We believe in making this transformative experience accessible, as we do not charge tuition, allowing passionate individuals to focus on their mission to enhance the local food landscape. Applications are open until March, with the experience taking place from May to October each year.
