The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Coralville, IA, offers a transformative opportunity for individuals passionate about advocating for a fair and sustainable food system. This hands-on program empowers selected Fellows through comprehensive training in organic food system education, ensuring they become effective allies for social, environmental, and economic justice in agriculture. Participants will engage in diverse activities, including growing and distributing crops on a market-style farm, implementing educational initiatives in health care, and supporting local farmers' markets. Throughout a six-month experiential fellowship at the Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year, Fellows will collaborate with regional non-profits to increase access to healthy foods and enhance food literacy initiatives. The Fellowship is tuition-free, making it accessible for all who seek to make a meaningful impact in their communities. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
