Home Delivered Meals (Meals on Wheels) in Council Bluffs, IA, is dedicated to serving the nutritional needs of seniors aged 60 and older, along with their caregivers, by providing hot, nutritious meals delivered right to their homes on days when the local senior center is operational. Our program not only ensures the delivery of delicious meals but also offers vital home visits, allowing our caring volunteer drivers to engage in brief conversations and conduct informal wellness checks with each recipient. Each month, participants receive a statement suggesting a contribution to help offset meal costs, ensuring that our services remain accessible. In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we have adapted our service to include regular deliveries of 10 frozen and/or shelf-stable meals, providing additional convenience and safety.
