About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Davenport, IA, empowers aspiring advocates and educators to promote a fair and sustainable food system through hands-on training and support. Our Fellowship, offered by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, provides a no-cost education in organic agriculture, ensuring accessibility for all. Selected Fellows immerse themselves in an experiential six-month program at our Allegheny Farm Campus, where they engage in various community initiatives such as cultivating diversified crops, running educational sessions, and establishing community gardens. Throughout the Fellowship, participants enhance food and ecological literacy, support local farmers markets, and strengthen regional food access initiatives. Following their training, Fellows undertake a Community Action Year, working alongside non-profit organizations to implement the skills they've honed. Join us in our mission to cultivate a food system that is equitable, environmentally friendly, and beneficial for all.
