The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Denison, IA, is dedicated to transforming our food system into one that is fair, sustainable, and economically viable. Through a hands-on, immersive program, we select passionate individuals to become champions of food justice and ecological literacy. Our Fellows benefit from comprehensive organic farming education at our Allegheny Farm, where they learn to grow and distribute a variety of crops while gaining insights into healthy food access and community engagement. This fellowship fosters innovative partnerships, enabling participants to implement educational initiatives in healthcare, support community and school gardens, and enhance local farmers' markets. We strive to empower the next generation of leaders in food policy and practice, all while ensuring the experience is accessible with no tuition fees. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply by March each year, with the Fellowship running from May to October, followed by a year of community-focused action with regional non-profits.
