ChildServe’s Autism Program in Des Moines, IA, is dedicated to providing a comprehensive array of services tailored for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families. Our evidence-based programming equips children, teens, and young adults with essential tools to foster friendships, engage in school activities, and participate fully in their communities. We are proud to host one of Iowa’s few autism diagnostic clinics, where expert child psychologists collaborate with skilled occupational and speech therapists to accurately assess ASD and guide families through education, referrals, and actionable recommendations. The Autism Day Health program, unique in Iowa, offers intensive therapy and early intervention care for children aged 2-6 in a nurturing weekday environment. Additionally, our Autism Intensives provide specialized speech and occupational therapy sessions to support development in young children. Built-in behavioral support techniques are integral to our program, complemented by specialty referrals and personalized behavior support plans. Our social group programming focuses on enhancing communication skills for children of all ages, with smaller group sizes led by trained professionals. We empower teens and young adults through our Life Skills Program, teaching vital daily living and job acquisition skills. For families facing mealtime challenges, our Medical Nutrition Therapy assesses and treats feeding difficulties with specialized approaches. At ChildServe, we understand that navigating services can be overwhelming, which is why we partner closely with families to identify the right programs and resources to support their child’s growth. Medicaid eligibility is required for participation.
