At the Catholic Charities Food Pantry in Des Moines, IA, we believe that access to quality food is essential for everyone, especially those facing food insecurity. Our mission is to provide critical nutrition to individuals and families in need through our food counter and emergency food boxes. Each month, families can access a three-day supply of nutritious food at no cost, alongside essential infant care items like diapers and formula. Our food pantry welcomes all community members during operating hours, offering a variety of fresh produce, dairy, rice, Meals from the Heartland, and beans until supplies run out. Additionally, we ensure that every family has consistent access to bread, with two loaves available daily, regardless of residence. With a focus on compassion and practicality, we are here to support the basic nutritional needs of our community, empowering families to thrive beyond immediate challenges.
