The Living with Type 2 Diabetes Program in Des Moines, IA, offers a supportive and educational experience for individuals recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. This free program, available in both English and Spanish, empowers participants with essential knowledge and tools for effective diabetes management over a comprehensive 12-month period. Participants receive six informative e-booklets, each carefully designed to address different aspects of diabetes care, along with a monthly e-newsletter filled with seasonal tips and local community resources. Enrollees also have the opportunity to engage directly with diabetes specialists through our monthly Ask the Experts Q&A series, allowing them to ask questions, learn about the vital connection between diabetes and heart health, and access helpful giveaways.
