About Senior Farmers Market (SFMNP)
At the Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) in Des Moines, Iowa, we are dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of older adults through access to fresh, locally grown produce. Our program offers eligible seniors a booklet of $30 checks, which can be redeemed at participating farmers' markets and roadside stands for nutritious fruits, vegetables, herbs, and honey produced right here in Iowa. We strive to make food assistance more accessible for older community members, ensuring they have the resources to enjoy healthy eating. SFMNP checks are available on a first-come, first-served basis from June 1 to September 30, and seniors must apply annually to benefit from this program. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to nourish their bodies with fresh, quality food in our diverse farming community.
