About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Dyersville, IA, is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of advocates for a fair and sustainable food system. We empower our Fellows through comprehensive training that encompasses organic food system education and hands-on experience. Our program, designed to be fully accessible without tuition fees, allows selected participants to immerse themselves in community initiatives, farming, and educational outreach. Throughout their six-month experiential residency, Fellows engage in vital activities such as promoting diversified crop production, supporting farmers markets, and enhancing food literacy within schools. After this foundational period, they enter a Community Action Year, applying their knowledge in collaboration with local non-profits to further advance food assistance, strengthen community gardens, and increase access to healthy foods. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience typically running from May to October, making it a prime opportunity for those passionate about social, environmental, and economic justice in food systems.
