About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Estherville, IA, is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of leaders in the food system. Our program sponsors and empowers Fellows through comprehensive training that emphasizes social, environmental, and economic justice in food systems. By offering organic food system education without tuition fees, we ensure that our Fellowship is accessible to all passionate individuals. Throughout their six-month residency at our farm campus, selected Fellows engage in hands-on experiences such as growing and distributing diversified crops, conducting health education sessions, maintaining community gardens, and integrating food literacy into educational activities. After their fellowship, participants enter a Community Action Year where they apply their skills with regional non-profit organizations, further promoting sustainable practices and increasing access to healthy foods. We invite those interested to submit their applications by March for the opportunity to make a meaningful impact from May to October each year.
