About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in Fairfield, IA, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of advocates for a just and sustainable food system. This immersive program provides hands-on training in organic food education, allowing Fellows to engage in meaningful community initiatives such as developing diversified crop farms, implementing health education sessions, and enhancing food literacy in schools. We focus on increasing access to healthy foods by supporting farmers markets and direct-to-consumer programs, while also fostering collaboration among community food coalitions. Through this six-month residential Fellowship at our farm campus, followed by a year of applied community action, participants gain the skills and knowledge necessary to drive impactful change. We believe in making this transformative experience accessible, as we do not charge tuition. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
