The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Grimes, IA, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates for a just and sustainable food system. We empower our Fellows by providing a comprehensive, tuition-free program that emphasizes organic food systems education. Over a transformative six-month experience at our facility, participants engage in hands-on training that includes growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing health-focused educational initiatives, maintaining community gardens, and promoting food literacy in schools. Following this immersive training, our Fellows initiate a Community Action Year, where they collaborate with local non-profits to expand access to healthy food, support farmers markets, and engage their communities in food coalition activities. Together, we strive to build a resilient food system that uplifts both the environment and community well-being.
