About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Hampton, IA, is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of advocates and educators for a socially, environmentally, and economically equitable food system. Through our no-cost training program, selected Fellows engage in hands-on learning at the Allegheny Farm, enabling them to grow and distribute diverse crops, run educational health care sessions, and develop community and school gardens. Our mission extends to enhancing food literacy in schools, supporting local farmers' markets, and building more robust distribution channels for healthy food access. The Fellowship offers a unique six-month, experiential program followed by a Community Action Year, wherein Fellows apply their expertise alongside regional non-profit partners. Applications are accepted until March annually for an enriching experience that runs from May to October, emphasizing practical solutions to foster a just food landscape.
