About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Humboldt, IA, is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of advocates for a food system that is just, sustainable, and equitable. Through comprehensive training and mentorship, our fellowship empowers participants to promote organic food system education and engage in various impactful community initiatives. Fellows learn to cultivate and distribute diverse crops on market-style farms, implement innovative educational programs in health care settings, and foster ecological literacy in schools and community gardens. With our commitment to accessibility, we charge no tuition for this transformative program. During the six-month immersive experience at our campus, followed by a Community Action Year, participants work alongside regional non-profit organizations to enhance food access, support farmer's markets, and strengthen community food coalitions. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship running from May through October, allowing individuals to make a significant impact in their communities.
