The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in Independence, IA, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of food advocates and educators through hands-on training in sustainable agriculture. We empower our Fellows to champion a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Our program offers a unique opportunity for selected participants to immerse themselves in organic food system education at the beautiful Allegheny Farm, without the burden of tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all. Over six months, Fellows engage in practical farm activities, develop diversified crop systems, initiate community gardens, and promote food literacy within local schools and communities. Following their on-site training, each Fellow embarks on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profit organizations to apply their skills and knowledge to real-world challenges. We invite passionate individuals to apply by March each year, with transformative experiences unfolding from May to October.
