At HIRTA Helps RSVP in Indianola, IA, we are dedicated to enhancing the lives of older adults, individuals with disabilities, low-income community members, and veterans throughout Central Iowa, including Madison and Marion counties. Through our Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) facilitated by AmeriCorps Seniors, we provide essential services such as non-emergency medical transportation, food assistance, and companionship. Our intake assessment process ensures that we tailor our support to meet each individual's specific needs, connecting them with food pantries and grocery store access or offering friendly in-home visits and community engagement assistance. While donations are welcome, all services are offered free of charge. We invite volunteers aged 55 and older to join us in making a difference; the first ten volunteers to complete their first assignment will receive a $25 gift card.
