About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Knoxville, IA empowers emerging leaders to champion a just and sustainable food system through hands-on training and education. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this unique program offers a transformative six-month residency at Allegheny Farm, focused on organic food system practices, ecological literacy, and community engagement. Our Fellows gain practical experience growing and distributing diverse crops, facilitating health-focused educational sessions, maintaining community gardens, and supporting local food initiatives. By participating in this fellowship, individuals not only learn about sustainable agriculture but also help increase access to healthy foods through partnerships with regional non-profit organizations. We welcome applicants who are ready to advocate for food justice and contribute to their communities, with no tuition fees required to enhance participation and accessibility. Applications are accepted through March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
