At HIRTA Helps RSVP in Knoxville, IA, we empower older adults, people with disabilities, low-income individuals, and veterans in Central Iowa to enhance their quality of life through essential services and community connection. Our Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), sponsored by AmeriCorps Seniors, offers non-emergency medical transportation, vital food support to access local food pantries and grocery stores, and companionship services ranging from friendly home visits to community event assistance. By completing a simple intake assessment, individuals can receive personalized services tailored to their needs without any fees. We are dedicated to fostering a supportive environment, and currently invite those 55 and older to join us as volunteers; the first ten volunteers will be rewarded with a $25 gift card upon completing their first assignment. Together, we strive to create meaningful volunteer experiences that connect our community and respond to its needs, ensuring that every senior has access to the resources they require.
