About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Mason City, IA, is dedicated to fostering a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system. Through hands-on training and empowerment, we equip our Fellows to become passionate advocates and educators in sustainable agriculture. With a focus on organic food system education, our program offers Fellows the unique opportunity to engage in a six-month residential study at our Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year where they partner with local non-profit organizations to apply their knowledge. Fellows will gain practical experience in growing diversified crops, implementing health-focused educational sessions, maintaining community gardens, and supporting farmers markets and food coalitions. We believe in accessibility and do not charge tuition, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to contribute to a healthier food landscape. Applications are accepted until March, with the program running from May through October, allowing participants to make a meaningful impact in their communities.
