The Backpack Program in Mount Vernon, IA, is dedicated to addressing food insecurity among local children. Recognizing the urgent need for consistent nutrition, each Friday we partner with schools to send home bags filled with nutritious, single-serve food items in the backpacks of children who might otherwise go hungry over the weekend. With the invaluable support of community volunteers and partners, we are proud to provide emergency food assistance to hundreds of children, ensuring they have the resources they need to thrive from week to week.
