At HIRTA Helps RSVP in Norwalk, IA, we are dedicated to empowering older adults, individuals with disabilities, and veterans by providing essential services that enhance their quality of life. Through our Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), we offer vital assistance including non-emergency medical transportation, food support, and companionship services tailored to the unique needs of our community members across Central Iowa Counties. Our intake assessment helps us connect individuals with resources such as food pantries, grocery access, and meal preparation assistance. We believe in fostering community connections, which is why our companionship programs range from friendly visits to helping individuals engage with local events. While we accept donations, there is no fee to access our services. We are also actively recruiting volunteers aged 55 and older, offering them the chance to make a difference in someone's life while being eligible for mileage reimbursement. The first 10 volunteers to complete their initial assignment will receive a $25 gift card as a token of appreciation. If you're passionate about volunteering, we will work to find opportunities that resonate with you, and we also provide translation services to ensure everyone can access our support.
