About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Orange City, IA, is dedicated to cultivating future leaders who advocate for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Our program offers a comprehensive, tuition-free opportunity for selected Fellows to engage in hands-on, organic food system education at our immersive campus. Throughout a six-month residency, participants gain experience in growing and distributing diversified crops, implementing innovative health care educational sessions, maintaining community gardens, and fostering food and ecological literacy in schools. After this transformative experience, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profits to enhance access to healthy foods, support farmers markets, and mentor emerging advocates. We believe that equitable access to nutritious food is essential, and we welcome dedicated individuals to join us in making a meaningful impact in our communities. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship typically running from May to October.
