About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Osage, IA, is dedicated to fostering the next generation of advocates for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. We empower Fellows through an immersive, hands-on learning experience at our farm, where they receive comprehensive education in organic food systems. Our program believes in accessibility, as there are no tuition fees for participants. Throughout the Fellowship, Fellows engage in critical initiatives such as cultivating diverse crops, supporting local food markets, and integrating food and ecological literacy into educational settings. They also have the opportunity to collaborate with community partners, enhance access to healthy food, and mentor upcoming Fellows. This transformative experience spans six months of dedicated training followed by a Community Action Year, allowing them to implement their skills with regional non-profits focused on food assistance and sustainability. Applications are accepted until March, with the program running from May to October each year.
