The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Perry, IA, empowers passionate individuals to become advocates and educators for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. This transformative program offers hands-on training in organic agriculture, equipping Fellows with the skills necessary to impact their communities through sustainable practices. Participants engage in activities such as growing and distributing diverse crops, facilitating innovative healthcare education, maintaining school and community gardens, and promoting food literacy. With no tuition fees, accessibility is a core value, allowing more individuals to join the movement for equitable food access. Over the course of six months at the Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year, Fellows collaborate with regional non-profits to apply their learning and drive meaningful change in food systems. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience scheduled from May to October.
