Based in Shenandoah, IA, Financial Assistance Funds is dedicated to supporting children with special health care needs and their families by providing vital financial assistance. Our program is designed to alleviate the burden of medical expenses by covering costs related to prescriptions, medical bills, and necessary medical equipment. In addition, we assist with non-medical expenses such as home and vehicle modifications, clothing, and essential supplies like diapers and bottles. We also help families manage healthcare utilization costs, covering travel to medical facilities and lodging, as well as daily living expenses including food, utilities, and transportation. Grants of up to $500 per family, per year are available, with any requests exceeding this amount requiring Board approval. We review applications in the order they are received, and recipients will be notified of approval after a 15 business day review process, ensuring that the urgent needs of families in our community are met promptly and compassionately.
