About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Based in Solon, IA, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates and educators for equitable food systems. The program generously offers full tuition-free access to Fellows, ensuring inclusivity as they partake in a transformative six-month residency at the Allegheny Farm in Virginia. During this immersive experience, participants gain hands-on education in organic farming and food systems while collaborating on community initiatives such as developing school gardens, enhancing food literacy, and supporting local farmers markets. Following their residency, Fellows engage in a Community Action Year where they apply their knowledge in partnership with non-profit organizations dedicated to improving food access and promoting sustainability.
