The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Storm Lake, IA, is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of advocates for a just and sustainable food system. This program empowers Fellows through hands-on experience and education, focusing on organic farming, food equity, and community engagement. Participants benefit from an immersive six-month experiential training at the Allegheny Farm Campus, after which they embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profits to promote diverse agricultural practices, establish community gardens, and enhance food literacy in schools. With a commitment to accessibility, we do not charge tuition, ensuring that our Fellowship remains open to passionate individuals eager to make a positive impact on food systems. The application process is straightforward, with deadlines typically in March each year, and the program running from May to October.
