The Living with Type 2 Diabetes Program, located in Waterloo, IA, is dedicated to supporting individuals recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes through a comprehensive, free, and accessible learning experience. Over the course of 12 months, participants receive six informative e-booklets that cater to their specific needs and concerns following their diagnosis, along with a monthly e-newsletter that offers seasonal tips, resources, and information about local community events in both English and Spanish. Enrollees who provide their phone number are also invited to the monthly 'Ask the Experts' Q&A series, where they can connect directly with American Diabetes Association experts to ask questions, learn about the connection between diabetes and heart health, and enjoy giveaways designed to promote successful diabetes management. Our mission is to empower individuals with the knowledge and resources they need to thrive while living with diabetes, fostering a supportive community every step of the way.
