About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in Waukon, IA, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals who aspire to be advocates for a just and sustainable food system. With a focus on social, environmental, and economic justice, our Fellowship invites participants to engage in comprehensive organic food system education without the burden of tuition, ensuring accessibility for all. Fellows gain hands-on experience over six months at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where they learn to cultivate diversified crops, run community gardens, and implement educational programs that promote food and ecological literacy. In partnership with regional non-profits, our Fellows also support critical community initiatives, such as farmers markets and direct-to-consumer food distribution, creating pathways to enhance access to healthy foods. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the experiential program running from May to October, fostering a new generation of leaders committed to transforming local food systems for the better.
