Located in Winterset, IA, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of advocates and educators who are passionate about creating a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically equitable. This Fellowship offers participants a unique opportunity to engage in a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience at the Allegheny Farm, where they receive tuition-free training in organic food systems. Fellows gain practical skills by growing and distributing diverse crops, leading educational programs in health and food literacy, managing community gardens, and supporting local farmers markets. The program includes a six-month immersive experience followed by a Community Action Year, allowing Fellows to implement their knowledge in partnership with regional non-profits. Applications are accepted until March, with the Fellowship running from May to October, facilitating an impactful journey toward sustainable food solutions in their communities.
