At HIRTA Helps RSVP, we are dedicated to enriching the lives of older adults, individuals with disabilities, low-income residents, and veterans in Winterset and surrounding Central Iowa counties. Through our partnership with AmeriCorps Seniors, we facilitate essential services like non-emergency medical transportation, food support, and companionship, ensuring that our community members receive the assistance they need. Each participant completes an intake assessment, allowing us to tailor our food assistance services, which include access to local food pantries and grocery stores, as well as help with food preparation. Our companionship services are designed to foster meaningful connections, whether through friendly home visits or assistance attending community events. We are committed to serving without a fee, welcoming donations to support our mission. Additionally, we invite those aged 55 and older to volunteer with us, offering them a chance to engage in fulfilling community roles while providing mileage reimbursement. New volunteers can enjoy a special gift card incentive upon their first assignment. Language translation services are also available to ensure inclusivity in our support efforts.
