Located in Arco, ID, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, is dedicated to empowering individuals to become influential educators and advocates for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through our comprehensive and accessible Farm and Food Study program, which is offered at no tuition cost, selected Fellows engage in hands-on learning at our Allegheny Farm Campus for six months, followed by a Community Action Year where they apply their knowledge in collaboration with local non-profits. Participants gain vital skills in organic farming, community food systems, and educational outreach, enabling them to grow and distribute diverse crops, manage community gardens, and promote health literacy. This fellowship nurtures future leaders committed to enhancing food access and sustainability in their communities, as well as supporting local farmers markets and food coalition initiatives.
