About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Blackfoot, ID, is dedicated to cultivating future leaders in sustainable food practices. This transformative program empowers participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to advocate for a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically just. Fellows engage in comprehensive, hands-on training at our partner farm, focusing on organic food system education and practical applications in community settings. Through this fellowship, they collaborate to grow and distribute diverse crops, support local farmers’ markets, enhance community health initiatives, and integrate food literacy into educational environments. Our commitment to accessibility means there is no tuition fee, allowing individuals from various backgrounds to benefit. After a six-month immersive learning at our campus, selected Fellows enter a Community Action Year, where they apply their training with regional non-profit organizations to drive meaningful change. Applications are accepted until March each year, with experiences running from May to October, making it a perfect opportunity for those eager to champion healthier communities and equitable food access.
