The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Emmett, ID, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of food system advocates who are committed to creating a socially, environmentally, and economically just food landscape. Our program offers hands-on training at the Allegheny Farm, where selected Fellows engage in a six-month residential experience that combines organic food system education with practical community involvement. Participants will learn to cultivate and distribute diverse crops, implement educational health initiatives, and support community and school gardens, all while promoting food and ecological literacy. As part of their journey, Fellows work alongside regional non-profit organizations during their Community Action Year, ensuring that they apply their skills effectively to enhance access to healthy foods and support local farmers markets. We believe in the importance of accessibility; therefore, there are no tuition fees required for our Fellowship. Applications are accepted until March each year, with experiences typically running from May to October.
