The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Filer, ID, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of leaders who advocate for a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically just. Our program supports, trains, and empowers Fellows through comprehensive organic food system education at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, without tuition fees to enhance accessibility. Participants engage in hands-on experiences, including growing and distributing diverse crops, running community gardens, and teaching food and ecological literacy in schools. Fellows also play a vital role in supporting farmers markets and developing channels for healthy food access while collaborating with local non-profits during their Community Action Year. This immersive journey lasts six months, from May to October, equipping Fellows with the knowledge and skills to make impactful changes in food access and education.
