Located in the desert highlands of Southern Idaho, blueFire Wilderness Therapy offers transformative wilderness therapy for pre-teens (11-14), teens (15-17), and young adults (18-28) struggling with substance use, emotional difficulties, social challenges, and behavioral issues. The program integrates evidence-based counseling with outdoor adventure, academic support, and family systems work to help participants overcome obstacles and develop their potential. At blueFire, clients begin each week at base camp, engaging in individual and group therapy sessions, equine therapy, meal preparation, and planning for weekly expeditions. Days are filled with group activities like rock climbing, mountain biking, canoeing, and kayaking, balanced with curriculum work, journal writing, and evening campfire meetings. The structured environment allows troubled youth to earn middle and high school credits while participating in a comprehensive therapeutic experience. The program accepts some insurance providers and is designed to benefit both the individual participants and their families through its holistic approach to treatment.
