The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Hagerman, ID, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of leaders committed to creating a fair and sustainable food system. Through comprehensive training and hands-on experience, our program empowers Fellows to advocate for socially, environmentally, and economically just practices. We offer a six-month, experiential learning opportunity that includes organic food system education, where participants will collaborate with local partners to grow diversified crops, implement innovative health care educational sessions, maintain community gardens, and foster food literacy in schools. Additionally, we support farmers markets and work to enhance access to healthy foods by developing effective distribution channels. The Fellowship culminates in a Community Action Year, where fellows apply their skills alongside regional non-profit organizations, making a real impact in their communities. We prioritize accessibility by not charging tuition, ensuring that this vital training is available to all. Applications are accepted until March each year, and the fellowship experience runs from May to October.
