About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship at Mountain Home AFB, ID is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates for a just food system rooted in social, environmental, and economic equity. Through comprehensive training and experiential learning at the Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows engage in organic food system education, gaining practical skills to grow and distribute diverse crops on a market-style farm. This fellowship program empowers participants to implement innovative health care educational sessions, manage community gardens, and integrate food and ecological literacy into local school activities. By supporting farmers markets and developing direct-to-consumer distribution channels, our Fellows enhance access to healthy foods while collaborating with regional non-profit organizations. With no tuition fees, we prioritize accessibility and community engagement, inviting aspiring fellows to apply by March for a transformative experience from May to October.
