Teen Challenge Boise Girls Academy provides Christ-centered residential care for teenage girls ages 13-17 in Nampa, Idaho, approximately 20 miles from Boise. The academy specializes in helping young women overcome behavioral challenges including substance use, suicidal ideation, self-harm, academic difficulties, and high-risk behaviors. Their comprehensive program typically spans 15 months, with extensions available when appropriate, and carries an initial cost of $9,450 covering tuition, housing, meals, activities, toiletries, and uniforms. Scholarship opportunities may be available for qualifying families. The academy's approach integrates spiritual development through daily reflection periods, weekly group mentorship sessions, Sunday church attendance, and organic discipleship throughout daily activities. Students enjoy family-style meals with staff, fostering meaningful relationships in a supportive community. Physical wellness is emphasized through various recreational activities including volleyball competitions against other schools, swimming, disk golf, hiking, and aerobics, with on-campus facilities including a gymnasium, pickleball court, and basketball court. Life skills development is a cornerstone of the program, with students participating in household chores, animal care for the campus farm (which includes chickens, goats, rabbits, and turkeys), meal preparation, and both on-campus and community service projects. Parents can visit during designated weekends every other month after their daughter has been enrolled for four months. Each student receives individualized attention from an assigned staff member who conducts weekly group and individual counseling sessions and serves as the family's primary contact regarding their daughter's progress. Upon program completion, the academy provides 3-5 months of aftercare support to facilitate successful family reintegration. Academically, students are dually enrolled in Lighthouse Christian Academy and Boise Girls Academy, following the Accelerated Christian Education curriculum. The program maintains accreditation through COGNIA and NCAA, and is licensed by the state of Idaho.
