About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in New Meadows, ID, we are dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates and educators for a food system that is just and equitable for all. Our program offers comprehensive training in organic food systems without tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all aspiring Fellows. Participants engage in hands-on learning at the Allegheny Farm, where they will cultivate diverse crops, enhance community gardens, and promote food and ecological literacy in educational settings. Through collaboration with local non-profits, Fellows implement innovative health care education and support market-driven initiatives, including farmers markets and direct-to-consumer programs. The Fellowship spans six months of immersive experience followed by a Community Action Year, where each Fellow applies their knowledge and skills to make a tangible impact. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
