The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Preston, ID, empowers passionate individuals to become advocates for a just food system that prioritizes social equity, environmental sustainability, and economic viability. Without charging tuition, we ensure that our fellowship is accessible to all, offering extensive organic food system education through hands-on experiences at our facility. Selected Fellows participate in a six-month immersive program that includes growing and distributing diverse crops on a market-style farm, implementing health education initiatives, and maintaining community and school gardens. Additionally, they teach food and ecological literacy, support farmers markets, and develop distribution networks to enhance access to healthy food. After completing their fellowship, participants engage in a Community Action Year, applying their skills in partnership with regional non-profits. Applications are welcomed until March each year, with the fellowship experience running from May through October.
