The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Salmon, ID is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of advocates and educators within a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. This transformative program is committed to making organic food system education accessible, as it charges no tuition for its Fellowship. Throughout the six-month immersive experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus, selected Fellows engage in hands-on training while learning to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement health-oriented educational sessions, maintain community gardens, and integrate ecological literacy into school programs. Additionally, the Fellowship empowers participants to support local farmers markets and develop distribution channels that enhance access to nutritious foods. Following their training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, partnering with regional non-profit organizations to apply their skills in real-world settings. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the Fellowship experience spanning from May to October.
