The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in Shoshone, ID, is dedicated to fostering advocates for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. This transformative program empowers selected Fellows through a six-month, hands-on training experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where they receive comprehensive education in organic food systems without any tuition costs, ensuring accessibility for all participants. With an emphasis on community engagement, Fellows collaborate with local partners to grow and distribute a variety of crops, implement innovative health care educational sessions, maintain gardens, and enhance food literacy within schools. They actively support farmers markets and develop channels to improve access to healthy foods, while also mentoring future cohorts. This fellowship culminates in a Community Action Year, where Fellows apply their learning in partnership with regional non-profits, making a meaningful impact in the communities they serve. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the Fellowship running from May to October.
