About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Sugar City, ID, serves as a vital platform dedicated to training and empowering individuals who aspire to be advocates for a just food system. Our mission is to create socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable practices that promote equitable access to healthy food. Our Fellowship offers comprehensive organic food system education, enabling participants to engage in hands-on experiences at the Allegheny Farm. Fellows will actively contribute to diversified crop cultivation on a market-style farm, implement innovative educational sessions for healthcare, maintain school and community gardens, and teach food and ecological literacy. Through partnerships with regional non-profit organizations, selected Fellows embark on a six-month experiential learning journey, followed by a Community Action Year where they apply their knowledge in meaningful ways. We believe in making this important training accessible, which is why we do not charge tuition. Interested candidates can apply by March for the opportunity to transform their passion for food systems into impactful community service from May to October.
