The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Wallace, ID is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of advocates for a just and sustainable food system. This innovative program offers hands-on training and mentorship, empowering selected Fellows to engage in organic food system education and community initiatives. By fostering partnerships with local non-profits, Fellows partake in impactful activities such as growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing health-oriented educational sessions, maintaining school and community gardens, and enhancing food literacy in schools. Additionally, this fellowship supports farmers markets and directs access to healthy foods, ensuring that food assistance reaches those in need. The program includes a comprehensive six-month experiential training at AMI’s Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year where Fellows put their knowledge into action. Applications are accepted until March each year for experiences running from May to October, all without tuition costs to ensure inclusivity and accessibility.
