About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Albany, KY, is dedicated to cultivating future leaders in sustainable agriculture and food justice. Through a hands-on, immersive experience at the Allegheny Farm, Fellows receive comprehensive training in organic farming and food systems, equipping them to advocate for social, environmental, and economic equity in our food supply. Designed with accessibility in mind, this program is offered free of charge to remove barriers to participation. Throughout the Fellowship, participants engage in raising diverse crops, conducting educational sessions on health, and supporting local community initiatives like school gardens, farmers markets, and food coalitions. Over the course of six months, Fellows develop vital skills before embarking on a Community Action Year, where they partner with regional non-profit organizations to apply their knowledge and drive meaningful change in their communities. Applications are accepted until March annually, with the program running from May to October.
