About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Bardstown, KY, is dedicated to cultivating a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system by sponsoring and training passionate individuals as advocates and educators. This transformative program provides an immersive six-month experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus, empowering Fellows through organic food system education without the burden of tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all. During their fellowship, participants engage in practical activities such as growing and distributing diversified crops, implementing community educational sessions, maintaining gardens, and promoting food and ecological literacy within schools. Through partnerships with regional non-profits, Fellows also contribute to farmers' markets, foster direct-to-consumer programs, and develop distribution channels that enhance access to healthy food in their communities. The Fellowship culminates in a Community Action Year, where graduates apply their skills and training to make meaningful impacts throughout the region. Applications are due by March for experiences running from May to October.
