Nestled in Berea, KY, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to become advocates and educators for a just food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, the Fellowship offers an immersive six-month experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where selected Fellows engage in hands-on learning about organic farming and food systems. This unique program, which incurs no tuition fees, aims to enhance accessibility while fostering community engagement. As part of their training, Fellows will collaborate with regional non-profit organizations, contributing to initiatives such as growing and distributing a variety of crops, implementing innovative health education, maintaining community and school gardens, and supporting local farmers markets. This dynamic fellowship focuses on increasing access to healthy food and promoting food literacy, all while nurturing the next generation of leaders in sustainable agriculture. Applications are accepted until March each year for the fellowship running from May to October.
