About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Campbellsville, KY, is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of advocates for a fair and sustainable food system. Through an immersive six-month program at the Allegheny Farm Campus, selected Fellows engage in hands-on training that covers organic food system education, ecological literacy, and community-based farming practices. Without the burden of tuition fees, this Fellowship ensures accessibility and inclusivity for all participants. Fellows work collaboratively with local non-profit organizations to grow and distribute a variety of crops, implement innovative educational sessions in health care, maintain community and school gardens, and enhance access to healthy food through farmers markets and direct-to-consumer initiatives. This program not only empowers individuals but also fosters community development by mentoring future leaders and supporting regional food coalition efforts, all aimed at building a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system.
